The club was formed in 1987 by a small group of keen climbers.

Since then it has grown to a healthy size and become affiliated to the British Mountaineering Council. It exists to bring together rock climbers, mountaineers and adventurous hill walkers in the Yeovil area, providing companions with a common interest in the sport.

We have members of all ages and with a wide a range of abilities. We accept membership applications from people with sufficient climbing experience to be able to belay competently and climb safely.

The Club has a climbing evening once a week, either at a local quarry in summer or a climbing wall during the winter, generally, as with most meets, followed by a trip to a local pub.

Of course you can climb alone and people often do, but it’s safer and a lot more fun to go with a partner or in a small group.
